Nurses at the Hutchinson Clinic in Dallas to close after shooting
Nursing staff at the Hutchinson Clinic in North Texas will be taking their staff home for the holidays after being hit by gunfire in the clinic’s parking lot.
The shooting happened just before 2 a.m.
Monday at the hospital, which is located just outside Dallas.
The clinic is just a block from where the gunman opened fire on police on Sunday.
The hospital says it has evacuated patients and staff and is notifying residents of the attack.
“We are doing everything we can to support the staff, and to keep the community safe,” the hospital said in a statement.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the patients who lost their lives.”
The shooting comes just days after the Dallas police chief said he has not spoken to the gunman or the suspect, Devin Kelley, but said he will not rule out the possibility that he was connected to the attack, which killed five people and injured six.
The suspect in the attack has not been identified.
