Mayo Clinic says it will hire 100 new workers in Ohio
CLEVELAND — Mayo Clinic said it will begin hiring 100 new employees in Ohio to fill jobs for the next few years.
The new hires will begin in 2019.
Mayo Clinic officials say they expect the company to employ 50,000 people in Ohio and another 50,00 in Michigan by 2021.
The announcement comes as Mayo Clinic faces increasing competition from new companies, which have become more adept at finding qualified workers and the Affordable Care Act has brought millions of new people into the U.S.
The company said the hiring comes as it moves away from the traditional model of hospitals and clinics to one based on community health centers and other health services, which it calls community health partnerships.
