What is it like to be in the middle of California’s wildfire crisis?

Posted September 27, 2018 04:11:16 The Sacramento Fire Department has received a record number of calls from people wanting to help.

According to the fire department, the call volume is about 50 percent higher than last week.

The most recent number was for Wednesday morning at 5:37 a.m.

The department is not yet able to provide an estimate on how many people are responding to those calls.

However, the department said the number is growing.

“We’re seeing a lot of people come in with concerns,” said Sgt. James Williams.

“So, the fire chief said to get ready for a few more calls.

That’s the plan.”

The department also said that people can still call 911 to report a wildfire, and they can call the emergency number at 888-543-3611.

The emergency number is staffed 24/7.

This is a developing story.
