Crypto Coin Betty Ford ford Clinic: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Posted October 01, 2018 06:30:25The Cleveland Clinic is about to get a new biomedical lab scientist.
Betty Ford, a pharmacist and nurse practitioner, has been named to the position, according to a release from the Cleveland Clinic.
Ford is currently the associate director of the Cleveland Regional Medical Center’s (CRC) Clinical Lab, where she oversees the lab’s biochemistry and pharmacology programs.
She has also served as a medical director of three clinical research centers at the CRC.
Ford, who has been working with CRC for more than 10 years, will be joining a department that is home to more than 400 researchers and medical staff, including doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals.
The announcement comes after a tumultuous week for the CRC, which was forced to close the first clinic of its kind on Friday after an outbreak of salmonella.
That prompted the hospital to issue a new set of rules for how it handles all staff and patients.
Ford’s appointment will be effective immediately, and her responsibilities will include overseeing the labs’ clinical services, research, and operations.
She will also serve as the associate administrator of the Clinic’s research and innovation program, which will lead the Clinic in developing and launching new technologies to improve patient care.
In a statement, Ford said she has been very grateful to CRC’s leadership team for the opportunity.
She added:This new position will allow me to build on the strong relationships I have built with CRC staff, researchers, and patients to support the future of our clinic.
I look forward to leading the Clinic into the future.
“The news of Ford’s appointment was first reported by The Plain Dealer, which noted that she had been “named the Cleveland Laboratory Scientist for the second time in a few months.
