The Oregon Ducks’ new mascot is named for its football team
3/22/2016 01:14:33In a fitting tribute to the football team, Oregon’s new mascot has a new name.
The Ducks’ mascot, a giant, purple bull named Bo, will be the mascot for the next two seasons after being chosen by the team’s executive committee.
Bo is a reference to the Oregon Ducks, the team that won the national championship in 2016 and is led by head coach Mike Bellotti.
Bo, who is the mascot of the New York Jets, is a two-year-old pup who weighs roughly 5,000 pounds.
Bo has already had his name changed, with the new name being announced by the Oregon Football Club on Monday.
Bo’s new nickname will be unveiled on April 24, when the Ducks host Michigan State in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Bo will be a two year-old dog that weighs around 5,300 pounds.
