Palestinian clinic to open for new residents
A Palestinian clinic is set to open in the occupied West Bank for new patients in what is expected to be a first for the country, a health ministry official said on Sunday.
The clinic, which is scheduled to open by the end of this month, is to be located in the village of Batab al-Arba in the south Hebron Hills, near the Israeli border.
The announcement came a day after the United Nations said it was reviewing plans for new settlement expansions in the West Bank.
It said the new facilities were needed to alleviate the humanitarian crisis caused by the occupation.
The United Nations called for an end to the occupation and the “continued denial of the right of return” to the Palestinians, as well as the return of Palestinian refugees.
